NewsCALLING 11-17 YEAR OLDS - COME ALONG AND HAVE SOME SERIOUS FUN!Afasic Northern Ireland is organising a Young People’s Day
Where?
The day is for young people aged 11-17 whose primary difficulty is a speech and language impairment. It offers a chance to meet friends again, make new friends, get to know others and chat about things which are important to young people. We will have games and activities to suit everyone’s interests. After lunch we will offer the chance to try their hand at caving in the largest manmade cave system in the UK. Those attending will also be involved in a consultation to identify their needs and what support/services they would like in the future. To enjoy the day it’s important that young people enjoy being with others and are happy to spend the day without their parents or carers. Thanks to the Lottery the day is free for those who attend and includes lunch and snacks! If you want to find out more or sign up now, please contact Mary Wright 028 3756 9611 or send Mary an email. Places are limited and offered on a “first come first served” basis so be quick! Transport difficult? They chose the design for the cover, updated and collected the contact details of organisations that they wanted to include. All this work deserved a reward!...so we asked Patricia Lewsley, the NI Commissioner for Children and Young People, if she would host the launch of the Pack and she agreed. So on Thursday 30 April we had a great time at her office and were joined by friends and family to celebrate.
